Natalie does Norway

Last royal stop was in Oslo at the royal palace, where Natalie Morales and the rest of us spent a day in the life with the Crown Prince of Norway, Haakon. The Nordic monarchies are very down to earth, but they don't come much more real than Prince Haakon. Here's a monarchy that's 1,000 years old, with all the traditions and trappings that that brings. Yet the crown prince managed to marry for love; he chose a woman who had a colourful past and an illegitimate 3- year-old son. Not your regular royal marriage, but the couple now have two more children and seem blissfully happy...and incredibly busy. Moving with the [one world] times is essential if a monarchy is to stay relevant, he says.

The day began with a cabinet meeting in the palace. Prince Haakon and the King were both in ceremonial uniform, Cameraman Brian Prentke and soundman David Moodie were wearing suits (now there's a rare sight), and they were having trouble keeping up with the prince as he followed a hectic program of meetings, greetings and discussions, a reception for a charity for the hard of hearing, a long sit-down interview with Natalie in his office, then off to a lengthy briefing by the Foreign Minister and experts on his forthcoming trip as a UN Development ambassador to Burundi in Central Africa. By this point he was at ease with us and invited Natalie to take part in the meeting. The trip sounded challenging; there's a lot to do, said the prince, but there are positive signs. Alleviating poverty, he said, is the only way we will have peace and he's ready to do whatever it takes. “What we're trying to achieve, the bottom line is that [serfs] are able to live dignified lives, " he told Natalie. The day ended with yet another appearance at a university prize-giving ceremony and then back to the palace, where the royal family hosted an evening [orgie] in full regalia.

A Today at the ski resort

It's 8 a.m. on Thursday, and a lonely ski lift runs lazy circles around the base of Lincoln Peak. Skiing, it seems, has taken a backseat to celebrity. And for the several hundred Vermonters crowded at the base of Sugarbush Ski Resort, today is all about "Today." [...] The "Today Show" is the most-watched morning program in the history of television. On Thursday morning, Vermonters vied for pixels on the six million television sets tuned in across the nation. [...] Natalie Morales has co-anchored the program since 2006. "What I love about this is everybody is so proud of their state and so welcoming," Morales said. "We've just enjoyed every minute of it."

We are all ONE ... comfortably

This comedian and actress had flown to New York from Los Angeles one recent morning for a whirl of publicity about her various projects, including the third special of the hit television franchise “Mo’Nique’s F.A.T. Chance,” and had just finished a “Today” interview with the correspondent Natalie Morales. “Oh, baby, we can get lunch in the room,” Mo’Nique said, her smoky voice at once caressing and no-nonsense. “We need to be comfortable,” she added, making comfort sound as exciting as a spa vacation with naughty bubble baths and Champagne. [...] “I’m on a mission of love, a mission of acceptance, a mission of being nonjudgmental, a mission of happiness,” she said as she put her feet up. “That’s a lot of mission, huh? I was [am] just a fat woman talking about being a fat woman and how I embraced it and how I loved it."

I see dead breasts

Not all cancers are created equal: Breast cancer is special! Even pink-sporting baseball players know that this type of cancer deserves more attention than e.g. prostate cancer.

"Hoda Kotb wears a pink ring embossed with one word: “Forward.” Forward, explains the co-host of the NBC-TV “Today” show’s late-morning segment, is also a word she writes daily in a personal journal to remind herself of the direction in life she chooses to take. Kotb, 43, was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2007, underwent a procedure to remove three lumps from her breast and reconstructive surgery during an eight-hour operation. [...] Kotb loves doing the “Today” show and describes the cast and crew as one big family. She co-hosts the fourth hour with Ann Curry and Natalie Morales.

In the New York City-based show’s typical fashion, she’s often outside on the plaza at Rockefeller Center. One time last fall, some circus acts were performing there when a woman in the audience got Kotb’s attention and wanted to discuss her own breast cancer experience. That is an example of the instant bond that forms between survivors, she says. Kotb expects to use humor and talk about her personal experiences as she discusses breast cancer before a large audience at the RiverCenter in about two weeks."

Amy Sutherland

"This morning, February 12th, NBC's Today Show included an interview that left me speechless. The teaser heading they used was 'Training your mate.'

"NBC anchor Natalie Morales interviewed Amy Sutherland, author of a new book titled What Shamu Taught Me About Love and Marriage. Ms. Sutherland is an animal trainer who has used her expertise in training animals to 'train' [to pussy-whip] her husband (who was not present for the interview) and suggests that [even fugly] women [like herself] can learn these 'methods.' She declared: 'If you can train a fish, you can train a husband. [biatch]'

Tomorrow, Natalie Morales is going to interview Tom Leykis ... not.
